“National and international visitors to SimLife Center consistently comment on the remarkable integration of flexibility, functionality, and realism with the visually appealing architecture.”

—Sharon Decker, Director of The F. Marie Hall SimLife Center

Description

This academic and clinical center of excellence, consistently at the forefront of health sciences education, planned for an immediate response to impending changes in healthcare reform and an aging population, as well as its own limited clinical placement sites for healthcare students. With a generous donation, the university embarked upon the development of an interprofessional simulation center, and engaged SmithGroupJJR to deliver the facility within an existing campus structure.

The result will keep the center at the forefront of this academic field for the foreseeable future: The SimLife Center engages students, practitioners and faculty with the latest simulation technologies and advanced learning environments.

The facility features multiple-modality instruction areas, including primary and acute care, a standardized patient program, advanced patient simulators, and 3D visualization. SimLife presents students with an immersive experience that reflects the exact understanding of an operating room, a birthing room – even of a scrub sink. Surrounding it is a robust, modern facility and infrastructure support.
