As science advances, research spaces adapt—typically moving toward greater flexibility and cutting-edge technology. Revamping the west half of Pfizer's Building 20 turned outdated research space into advanced molecular biology laboratories easily adaptable for the future.
To advance the client's position as a worldwide leading pharmaceutical manufacturer, efficiency and collaboration were deemed the twin project goals. To support this, modular open labs and support spaces were incorporated to enhance research team communication. A new stair tower unites the renovated floors and a common entry with a connecting corridor ties Building 20 together with a neighboring facility. Planning solutions maximize laboratory, lab support and office spaces while also anticipating future modifications.
